Trump Considering Removing Security Clearances From James Comey, John Brennan, And More
Update August 15: Former Director of the Central Intelligence John Brennan’s security clearance has been revoked by President Trump.
Today in a press conference Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that President Trump would be considering removing security clearances of Former FBI Director James Comey, Former Director of the Central Intelligence John Brennan, Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, and Former Director of the National Security Agency Michael Hayden.
Huckabee claims they are “politicizing and monetizing” their clearances with their anti-Trump statements.
Press Sec. Sanders: “Not only is the president looking to take away Brennan’s security clearance, he’s also looking into the security clearances of Comey, Clapper, Hayden, Rice, and McCabe…because they’ve politicized and in some cases monetized their public service.” pic.twitter.com/X24GmU06ci

The national security officials who run this process will have to decide whether they can live with themselves if they go along with this extraordinary threat of political retribution. The president can probably pull the clearances of anybody he wants. https://t.co/ZIcvqLKDDb

Andrew McCabe’s security clearance was deactivated when he was terminated, according to what we were told was FBI policy. You would think the White House would check with the FBI before trying to throw shiny objects to the press corps… https://t.co/ZOKJDChpeP
