As Hurricane Florence looks set to hit the east coast, MSNBC‘s Katy Tur led an informative segment on climate change and how its contributing to these more intense hurricanes.

Katy Tur opened up the segment with a clip of President Trump claiming his administration is incredibly prepared for this hurricane. She pointed out that the administration can’t be truly prepared for these hurricanes if they deny the factors that strengthen it, such as climate change.

Tur pivoted the segment to Bill Nye, who came prepared with props displaying what 20 inches of rain looks like and exactly how climate change is contributing to these disasters.

Tur then gave the floor to Paul Bledsoe, Strategic Adviser at the Progress Policy Institute, who broke down the environmental deregulation that the President Trump’s administration has unleashed, all of which further perpetuate climate change.
