In Memoriam: Gwen Ifill
Gwen Ifill, a long respected journalist and political moderator, has passed of cancer at the age of sixty-one.
Ifill was the managing editor of Washington Week, co-anchor and co-managing editor of the PBS NewsHour, and contributed reporting to The Washington Post and New York Times. In 2004 and 2008 she moderated both vice-presidential debates. In 2009, on the day of President Obama’s inauguration, she published her book, “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.”
Ifill passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family at a hospice facility in Washington D.C.
