President-elect Donald Trump has named his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as one of his Senior Advisers. This comes after the NYT called out his conflicts of interest. Reportedly, both Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner will sell the majority of their assets to avoid “the appearance” of the conflicts of interest with their various businesses, and move to Washington DC. Worth noting that Ivanka still plans to receive portions of the revenue from various projects. Need more details on how they plan to divest:

NYT report on Kushner conflicts:

I’m sure you’ve all heard of Trump’s unprecedented move to immediately push out everyone who was appointed by Obama, leaving key positions open without a replacement. Well, this includes folks who are work for the National Nuclear Security Administration. “Trump has ordered Under Secretary for Nuclear Security Frank Klotz and his deputy, Madelyn Creedon — both Obama appointees — to leave their posts, even if it means no one is in charge of maintaining the country’s nuclear weapons."

Kellyanne Conway, one of Trump’s top advisors, dismissed the need for additional investigations into Russia’s interference in our democracy and signaled that Trump may reconsider the sanctions on Russia:

Trump’s Secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson was a top executive at Exxon while they did business with Iran, Syria and Sudan through a European subsidiary while those countries were under U.S. sanctions as state sponsors of terrorism. The use of the European subsidiary allowed them to subvert the sanctions. This will likely come up in Tillerson’s confirmation hearing on Wednesday. Here is that article as well as one that covers Tillerson’s Russian ties and oil entanglements:

After Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel (R) said Democrats who were calling for a delay on Trump’s nominees who haven’t completed their ethics reviews need to “grow up,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D) responded with fire. He took to Twitter and posted a picture of McConnel’s 09 letter, where he demanded that Obama’s nominees meet the very same standards that Democrats are demanding today. This exposed Mitch McConnel’s hypocrisy. Bravo Schumer. Bravo:

Trump’s Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions’ two day confirmation hearing begins tomorrow. Session’s racist tendencies were the focus of his 1986 hearing for an Alabama judgeship, a judgeship he never obtained. We’ll see how this goes tomorrow:
